Teachers Supporting Teachers

I am donating 100% of my earnings to Sandy Hook Elementary until January 13th!   It is my very small and humble way to let them know that there are people all over the United States who care about them.

Elf on the Shelf

This is my first year doing Elf on the Shelf.  My kids are really enjoying it.
She was reading a book, just his size, in the reading corner.
She loves playing on the computer!
She was hiding in our pencil box cubbies.
She was calling Santa on our reading phones.
She was checking out the 12" of snow we got over the weekend.  She was anxiously awaiting for the kids arrive 2 hours late on Monday!  Yahoo!!!
She is sitting on the top of the easel by Mr. Reindeer.
The kids were a little crazy the previous day so Elf was hiding behind the tree.  She was scared to come out from behind the tree.  (P.S.  It worked!  The kids were awesome that day!)
Hanging from the mirror in the housekeeping area!
Hanging out on the poor overhead projector that rarely gets used.
She could see everywhere in my classroom from the top of my SmartBoard.

So, I have a few more pictures to share that were taken during Thanksgiving week.  We were reviewing the letter Tt so it fit right into lots of TURKEY projects.
My co-worker got these turkey headbands ready for all of us.
Aren't they adorable???!!!!

We have made these apple turkeys for years.  My co-worker brought
this idea from her previous school.  It is hard to see, but we use construction paper
heads.  A slit is cut in the apple to slide the head in and keep it attached to the apple.
Toothpicks are used with gumdrops to create the feathers.
**The cute little pumpkins behind the apple turkey were made by a different co-worker's
grandfather.  He LOVES wood working so we benefit!!!

We made these cute little turkeys for snack.
We used all of these decoration on our tables.  It makes our feast seem more festive.

Go Away, Big Green Monster!!!

Here is a project we did today in my classroom!  We were focusing on the letter Mm.  I also made a flannel board activity using the same pattern.  The kids loved it!!!

Each year we have a Veteran's Day Program at our school!  Last year, I saw a cute army man on a teacher's blog.  (I apologize that I can't remember which blog.)  I knew my students needed to make those cute army soldiers.  At the beginning of our program, the color guard came through the gym.  I noticed the uniforms for the different branches in the armed forces and I wanted to represent all of the different branches this year.  So I came up with these cute soldiers.  I will hang them up on the gym walls for our program this year!  I think they are so cute!  I am very proud of how they came out!

I can't RESIST!!!

I have been debating about starting this blog for a long time.  I really don't need one more thing to do; however, I decided it would be a great way to document my activities.  I have LOVED learning from other teachers.  It is so fun for me to have a look into other kindergarten classrooms.  Soooo, here I go!  I hope someone might find something useful on this blog at some point!  =)
